Zedong Wang

Zedong (Jacky) is currently a first-year CSE PhD student at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), advised by Prof. Dan Xu. Previously, he was a visiting student at Westlake University. He received his bachelor's degree in Electronics and Information Engineering from Huazhong University of Sci. & Tech., where he was fortunate to be advised by Prof. Xinggang Wang.

His research centers on deep learning, computer vision, and multi-task learning, with a specific focus on (i) efficient architectures, (ii) unified visual perception/understanding/generation frameworks, and (iii) optimizers in (M)LLMs. He has been recognized as Notable or Outstanding Reviewer at several prestigious conferences, including ICLR 2025, ECCV 2024, ACM MM 2024, and BMVC 2024.
